E-Invoicing: how to connect Alaan through EmaraTax

Select Complyance as your Accredited Service Provider so e-invoices arrive in Alaan

Introduction

To send and receive e-invoices in Alaan, you first need to appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

This is done through EmaraTax, the FTA's portal, and not in Alaan.

The FTA requires the taxpayer to make this appointment directly, so Alaan cannot do this on your behalf. We’ll guide you through the process and confirm the connection once you’re done.

The whole process takes around five minutes.

About the EmaraTax Connection

When you get to EmaraTax, select Complyance Electronics L.L.C from the list of Accredited Service Providers.

Complyance is Alaan's accredited network partner. They hold the FTA accreditation and operate the connection to the e-invoicing network.

Alaan is where you continue to manage your invoices and bills. Your invoices arrive in Alaan, your bills are approved and paid in Alaan, and everything syncs to your accounting system as usual.

Important: Make sure you select Complyance Electronics L.L.C. If you select a different provider, your invoices won't reach Alaan. Your e-invoices will go to the ASP you appoint instead.

Requirements

Before you begin, make sure:

  • You have access to your company's EmaraTax account at eservices.tax.gov.ae.

  • The person completing the setup is authorised to make tax submissions for your business.

  • If your business has more than one legal entity, you know which entity you want to set up first.

E-invoicing is linked per legal entity, not per account.

Connect Alaan Through EmaraTax

Follow these steps to appoint Complyance as your ASP:

Step 1: Log in and pick your entity.
Head to eservices.tax.gov.ae and sign in. If your account covers more than one company, make sure you select the entity you're setting up.

Step 2: Open E-Invoicing from the left menu.
You'll land on the e-Invoicing Action Required screen, where you can see your current linkage status with an ASP.

Step 3: Start the onboarding action.
Tick the confirmation box and click Start. A pop-up will offer three options — Onboarding, Reverification, and Offboarding. Since this is your first time registering, select Onboarding and click Proceed.

Step 4: Search for Complyance.
Look for Complyance in the list of Accredited Service Providers and select it.

Step 5: Click Proceed to ASP.
EmaraTax will hand you over to Complyance to complete your registration details.

Step 6: Return to Alaan and click Verify With EmaraTax.

That's it! Alaan will check your registration on the network. This is usually instant, but it can take up to 24 hours to appear.
