SuperPay : Understanding Cross-Border Payment Network

Overview

If you're used to SWIFT transfers, SuperPay works differently and that’s by design. SuperPay uses a global payment network that banks already recognize, so your vendor can receive funds without any extra setup.

What payment network does SuperPay use

SuperPay international transfers are powered by Visa Direct, Visa’s global push-payment network.

Instead of moving through SWIFT or correspondent banks, the payment is routed through Visa’s network to the recipient’s bank. Regulatory processing is handled by Nymcard, Alaan’s CBUAE-licensed partner.

This means your vendor’s bank does not need to enable anything new or complete any setup to receive the payment.

How the payment works

Step 1: You upload the invoice and initiate a payment from your Alaan account

Step 2: The invoice and beneficiary details are screened, in line with regulatory requirements for cross-border transfers

Step 3: The transaction is then submitted over the Visa Direct rails

Step 4: Visa routes the payment to your vendor’s bank

Step 5: Funds are credited directly to your vendor’s bank account in their local currency.

How the vendor receives the payment

  • Funds are received in their local currency

  • The transaction includes a standard Visa network reference

  • There is no foreign bank in the transaction chain

  • No additional setup or action is required from the vendor

Country availability and eligibility

FAQ

Will my vendor’s bank reject the payment?

Unlikely. The payment is processed through the Visa network, which most banks already support, so it doesn’t appear as an unfamiliar international wire.

How is this different from SWIFT?

SWIFT transfers go through intermediary banks, which can add delays and extra checks. SuperPay sends funds directly to the recipient bank via Visa’s network.

What currency will the vendor receive?

The funds are credited in their local currency. Currency conversion happens automatically as part of the transaction.

How will the recipient bank recognize the payment?

Each transaction includes a standard Visa network reference and is processed within a CBUAE-regulated framework. If needed, Alaan Support can assist.
