SuperPay: Send a Fixed AED Amount in International Payouts

Learn how to keep the AED amount you send fixed while the amount your recipient receives adjusts with the exchange rate.

When you make an international payout, two amounts are involved:

  1. The AED amount that leaves your account

  2. The amount your recipient receives in their local currency

Exchange rates move constantly between the moment you submit a transfer and the moment it's processed. Because of this, one of these amounts has to stay fixed while the other adjusts. With SuperPay, you can decide which one stays fixed, whether that's a set AED budget or an exact amount your recipient needs to receive.

What does "fixing the AED amount" mean

For many payouts, such as rent, contractors, or refunds, the important number is the AED amount you've budgeted or committed to send, not the destination-currency figure. Without AED amount fixing, FX movement on the recipient's currency could change the AED amount debited from your account, making it hard to control your spend.

With SuperPay, you can fix the AED amount you want to send. The recipient-side currency amount then moves with the exchange rate, but the AED debited from your account stays exactly what you set.

What to fix the AED amount on international payouts

  • Rent payments, where you've committed to a set AED amount each month.

  • Contractor or salary payments, where the AED cost is what you're budgeting against.

  • Refunds, where a specific AED amount has been contractually agreed with the counterparty.

If instead your recipient must receive an exact amount in their local currency, for example an invoice denominated in EUR or GBP, you can fix that currency instead so the recipient-side amount stays fixed.

How to fix the AED amount on an international payout

  1. Start your international payout and enter the payout details as usual.

  2. Select currency as AED, which becomes the locked currency. The AED figure you enter becomes the fixed send amount. Here's what that looks like when choosing the currency.

  3. The estimated recipient amount is displayed, and it will keep updating with the exchange rate until the transfer is processed. Here's what that looks like once the AED amount is entered.

  4. Submit the transfer. The AED amount shown is what will be debited from your account once the transfer clears compliance review.

Once submitted, your transfer goes through the same compliance review as any other SuperPay payout before funds are deducted.

FAQ

Q: Will my recipient receive exactly the amount shown at submission?

  • Because exchange rates move until the transfer is processed, the recipient-side amount is an estimate and may adjust slightly. What stays fixed with SuperPay is the AED amount debited from your account.

Q: Can I lock the recipient's currency amount instead?

  • Yes. Select the recipient's currency and enter the amount in that currency. In this case, the recipient's local-currency amount stays fixed, and the AED amount adjusts with FX.

Q: Does fixing the AED amount guarantee a specific exchange rate?

  • No. It fixes the AED amount you send, not the exchange rate itself. The rate applied is the one at the time the transfer is processed.
