Cleared and uncleared transactions

These types of transactions are visible only to the admin and the accountant on the Alaan web portal. Once you make a payment on the card, the VISA network usually takes a day or two to clear the transaction. However, sometimes it can take up to 15 days as well. You won't have to worry about this as this gets done automatically.

When you use an Alaan card for international transactions, the card will be charged at the prevailing exchange rate of the transaction date. The transaction amount is visible on the portal in the forex currency and its equivalent in AED. However, once the transaction clears, the difference in the forex rate will also be charged to the card automatically. That is usually of a difference of 1 AED.

You can identify which transactions have been cleared by VISA and which have not.

  • Log into your account on Alaan.

  • Select the More drop-down menu on the sidebar menu and click Accounting.

  • Navigate to the Pre-accounting section.

  • Uncleared transactions will be greyed out, while cleared transactions will be visible in color.

  • You can further segregate both types of transactions by using the filter option.
