To keep your money safe, we’ve made an important update to how your Alaan Card works when added to digital wallets, including Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, mada Pay, etc.
What’s New?
When you manually add your Alaan Card to a digital wallet using an OTP (one-time password), we’ll now automatically freeze your card right after it’s added. This gives you a chance to confirm it was you, and helps prevent any unauthorised use.
Don’t worry! You can easily unfreeze your card in just a few taps inside the Alaan app.
New Tokenisation Flow - How It Works
🔐 Option 1: Add Card via Alaan App – Instant & Active
When you add your Alaan Card to a digital wallet through the Alaan app (e.g., Google Pay or Apple Pay), it’s added securely with no interruptions.
No OTP required
Your card remains active and ready to use immediately
No further steps needed
🔐 Option 2: Add Card via OTP – Freeze Until Confirmed
When you manually add your Alaan Card to a digital wallet outside the Alaan app (e.g., Samsung Pay, Google Pay, mada Pay), we take extra steps to keep your card safe.
Here’s what happens:
You enter your card details manually
You verify the addition using a one-time password (OTP)
Your card is immediately frozen as a security precaution
You’ll receive alerts via:
SMS
WhatsApp
Email
The notification will ask you to confirm the action in the Alaan app.
If it was you, confirm the activity in the app, and your card will be instantly unfrozen and ready to use
If it wasn’t you, report it, and we’ll cancel the card immediately and notify your company admin
This added step helps prevent any unauthorised use, giving you full control and peace of mind.
This security feature helps prevent unauthorised wallet additions.
